REPATRIATION BOARD
SOLDIER SETTLERS CO-OPERATE. A meeting of the Repatriation Board was hold on Tuesday, Mr. T. 'Shailer Weston presiding. Thirty applications for loans for businesses wero dealt with, thirteen being
granted, hi declined, and five being deferred. So far this is the greatest number of loans for business which hnvo been declined as unsound propositions. The figures for the previous week wero 10 applications, \~> granted and one deferred. Thirty-two applications for grants to buy furniture were considered, U8 being granted, one deferred, and three declined.
An unusual application oatno up for consideration when 28 soldier settlors in a certain dairying district applied for n loan of .12(H) each with which to found a co-operative company. After discussion it was decided to refer tho matter to the Land? Department, as it was considered that it was a ma tier for that Department: to deal will since tho Department had placed thrs men on tho fond.
