After trading some vears the partnership was dissolved .Mr. Cobbo taking over the drayory section, which has been carried on under his personal supervision. Now. after all these years of successful trading. Mr. Cobbe lias retired from an nclivo unrt in the business. Mr. C. S. Jeffs whose wide experience both in F.i Hand and the Dominion particularly fitting him for the position, lias taken over the management, and it will be bis constant aim and object to maintain all the old traditions of the firm. , Under the new management very extensive and up-to-date alterations are being undertaken 'The whole of the front of the extensive buildings is to bo remodelled, tiie present windows being replaced by, li"hts of the most modern pattern. The interior is also undergoing alterations, and when completed these will equal anything to Ik found in the largo cities. SUTTON AND CO., FEILDING. The well and favourably-known firm of A. H. Sutton and Co., soft goods house, has arisen from very small beginnings, until now it is one of the important businesses in the progressive town of Feilding. The concern started in a small shoo at the corner of Ferguson and Manchester Streets, and the locality is how generally known as "Sutton's Corner." The premises soon became too small for the growing business, which auicklv became very popular, and on several occasions enlargements hnve had to bo made, until finally the firm ; secured tho whole section of GGft. by (ifift., 'and rebuilding ban started, and would have been much more advanced had labour and material been available. However, it is honed before long to have the whole frontage re-erected in fireproof materials. The front, which will bo two stories in height, will have tho very latest style- of show-windows, and this will give patrons a much better chance of inspecting samples of the comprehensive stock which is always on hand at this euiDorium. Tho rapid growth of the business has been accomplished in a great measure by the close personal attention uaid to its requirements by Mr. Sutton, whose thorough acquaintanre with all branches of the soft goods trade has enabled him to secure stocks to suit all customers, and patrons can be assured of getting exactly what they want at Sutton's, both as to quality nnd variety, and at prices which arc always reasonable.
