Algerian oats two still inquilvd for but on a reduced basis by comparison with the figure ruling a week ago. _ Business has been done at ss. 2d., but is easing. Quotation at country stations is about 'Is. 3d., and merchants are not disposed to operate to any extent. It is expected that the comparative lack of business in white oats will be only temporary. So far, very little of the new seaeon's sample has put m an appearance at Od. to Is. beyond the season's opening quotations .that is, about 7s. 9d. to Bs. The innnirv for grass seeds continues firm. Cocksfoot of clean quality is brincing up to Is. 2d., while ss. Gd. is readily offering for Italian and perennial ryegrass. Darley is coming in, the sainide"generally being good and prices _ in advance of recent quotations. A line line in tpiality as well as quantity has been bought iii the Tnitnpu* district 'by a Christchurch firm, at a price from country stations, for extra good samples, but this figure is a shade beyond to-day's quotations.
