IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT'S INQUIRY PRODUCERS TO CONFER It has already been announced that Hie Imperii)l Government has declined to. i.uy the New Zealand meat and wool for a further term under the requisition arrangements which have existed over the war years, but no conclusive answer has yet been given about dairy produce. Mr. Jtassey stated yesterday that the Imperial authorities were waking inquiries about the terms on vhHi New Zealand butter and cheese might be j-iir-ahnsed. Ho had notified the representatives o£ the butter and cheese industries that the Imperial Goverirmit nsked to know their wishes as to price and conditions of purchase. The butter and cheese people would now confer, ai d lei: him know their opinions, and it would bo his duty to convey them to the Imperial Government. He thought that the meeting, of the representatives of the dairy industry would bo held lato in this week, or early in next week.
