Cleland.and Balk, of Dnnedin, would bo able to undertake the adjudication of the Brilliancy Prize presented by Mr. W. Mackay .(president), ' and also of the End-Game Prize donated by Mr. W. E. Grantham (Lower Ilutt). It was decided that any game entered for the Brilliancy Prize must be seijt'in as played, that ,is to say, the full score must'be "submitted to the adjudicators, including'any moves made by the loser ' . after hq ought to have resigned; Tho report and-balance-sheet,submitted in connection with tho Championship Congress recently hold in this city showed that there would bo a credit balance after payment of all accounts. The'question of publishing a book of the recent congress was then discussed..' It was decided to ask tho various afßlia ted clubs to notify the association urgent* i lv how many .copies they would take of the book if ii'sued nt two shillings per copv,' and also to'say whether they aie . prepared to submit, during the next three weeks', the necessary matter regarding office-bearers, membership, place, and times of meeting, tourney and nuitch Tesults, and other items of interest for inclusion in the book. In the event of sufficient support being forthcoming to justify the issue of a boot, Mr. H. L. James (-Wellington) is to be asked to act /as editor. In the event of publication being decided on, and Mr. James's services not being available, Mr. ,T. A. Connell is to bo asked to act-as editor.
