Eric Victor Kilchie, aged 22, a returned soldier, died as the result of injuries sustained through a motor skidding over a bank on the road near Tongom. lwo other occunants escaped uninjured. Deceased was crushed, and died on removal to Napier Hospital. liicli veins of'silver-lead ore have been uncovered on the Gold Bug mining claims and the Silver Cup property in iho Lardeau country, British Columbia.
