Mr. Stout, S.M., gave reserved judgment to-day in the case in which Collin-. soh : and Guniiirighame, drapers, werecharged' with having comm.itted a. breach of the Gaining Act by disposing of certain property by chance. .The prosecution' was the result of n- New Year's Eve. scheme to draw trade. A person paid a shilling and received in exchange a ticket entitling him to an articlo bearing a number tho same as tho tirfket from a collection of articles. The Magistrate held that the scheme was a lotterv. and fined the defendants £10 and costs.
