HANAWATU For the past week real summer weather has been experienced, the temperature being high, with very little wind, nml farmers and graziers are thoroughly satisfied with the prospects, which point ill tho direction of plenty of feed for tho coming winter. On the Palmerslon North Club's bowling green on Saturday several club competitions took place, the 1 green being in splendid order and very fast. For tho Scott Feathers, the lrolders, Van tier, Simmons', Newman, and Hancock, were challenged by Ferguson, Hills, Wimsott, and Horn, and won by 19 to 18. At (lio end of the 21st head'the scores were 18 all. An extra head was played, Iliiiidcock holding the deciding shot. Two teams from the Terrace End Club visited the Xlanawatu green and won 'both their games. In the first game, Bailey, Trcmewan, Wallace, and Rankin (Terrace End), 21, * defeated Corbridge, Cave, Duncan, and Torbit, 15. In the second game, Anderson, Reid, Tapp, and Carter (Terrace End), 29, beat Hodgson, Jones, Livingston, and Fraser, 18.
