LONDON WOOL SALES
Tbe New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co. Ltd. report having received the following cablegram from their London office dated January 23:—"Wool sales closed; merinos and fine croßHbrqds vadvanccd further 5 per cent.; coarse crossbreds. owing to small demand, mostly withdrawn." Messrs. D.ileety and Company Limited are in receipt of a cablegram from their London house under date of January 23. rcadinrj as follows:—"Wool sales closed firm; 1W.050 bales offered on inspection and 42.500 bales according to description. English buyers aro the principal operators, and French buyers are euying again more freely, but the Americans arc not buying much. Merino wools Are 5 nor cent, higher. Pino erossbreds Arm, hut unchanged; medium and coareo crossl.reds 5 per cent, higher, as compared with last Bale's closing rates For medium and coarse crossbrcd3 the Government limit is still often too high."
