IMPERIAL CLUB PROJECT
___—$ meeting Slack eor oyeeseas FOLK. ft Lontlon, January 27. The Higli 'Commissioner for New Zealand (Sir Thomas Mackenzie), interviewed regarding the great Imperial Club which the Prince of Wales saxl yesterday "he was very keen about," said the cost would bo a million or more. At present (ho High Commissioners and Agents-Gen-eral did their best for' overseas visitors, but their power and tho facilities available were limited, Tho Colonial and Imperial Institutes and other organisations were doing splendid work, 'but a club was wanted for the reception and accommodation of overseas folk, where they cculd meet each other and English men and women interested in Impenai'affairs. At such a club they would be able to offer hospitality to their friends. To his mind, were such a club established it should give simple and inexpensive receptions, while it would be desirable to establish fn connection with> it a central institution where overseas visitors and British traders could readily come together.—Aus.-N.Z.
