PARORANGI STUD ROMNEY SALE
'By Telegraph-Special Correspondent. Palmorston North,*Jamtary 27. There was a large and representative attendance from all parts of the Dominion at the first dav's sale of the Parorangi stud Romneys. The offering was entirely devoted to ewes. The sheep came forward in excellent condition, and were true to type in every way. Although no fancy prices were obtained, the returns must be considered fair when other sales are taken into consideration. A complete clearance was made, -and sheep were distributed from the north of Auckland to Invereargill, a fair proportion goinq; to the South Island, where Komneys are now becoming more fashionable. The sale was held in the new ring erected on the Feilding A. and P. Show Ground, and the facilities afforded were as.good as anything in the Dominion. During the sale Mr. Short donated three pens of ewes, which had been knocked down to returned soldiers, declining to take money' from those who had fought for their country. Two-tooth ewes made from 12 to 20 guineas, maiden four-tooths 5 to 10 guineas, four-tooths, which had been bred from, 5 to VI guineas six-tooths 5 to 10 guineas, four-year-old' sheei> t- lo 10 guineas, and five-year and aged sheep from 3 to 8 guineas. The balance of the ewes ana stud rams will be offered to-morrow.
