Tho Prime Minister Tins received advice from the Secretary of State for the Colonies to the effect that His Majesty's Government does not contemplate the extension of the wool purchase contract beyond June 30 next. It will 1)0 noted that this information is not quite definite, but there is little doubt about the termination of tho contract as mentioned. Mr. Afassey has on several occasions expressed the opinion that the Imperial Government would not wish to continue the purchase and importation of colonial produce in future, with the possible exception of butter. No information has yet been received about the. termination or extension of the contract for the purchase of butter and cheese.
