An Amalgamated Traders' Association is beins formed to combat tho effects of tho alliance recently entered into between thfi leaders of tho Trade Unionists, the Labour Parly, and the Co-oper-ative Societies, which aims at the elimination of wivate trading enterprise and its reulacement by a State-controlled coonerato svsteiu of distribution. Tlio promoters of the association include a number of influential traders, and its council consists of representatives of important orcanisations, including tho Home and Foreien Produce Exchange, the provision section of the London Chamber of Commerce, the canned goods section of tho Liverpool Chamber, and' the Bristol and Liverpool Provision Trade- Associa-tions.-Aus.-N.Z.
