INCREASE IN INFLUENZA
CASES
Whilst tho weekly bulletin on infections 'diseases''issued by the 'District ■Health Office yesterday shows a marked increase.' in the number of influenza cases since tho last bulletin, tho vast majority ci cases notified arc of the mild form. Tho total eases for the week number 173, as against 134 for last week. This week's total includes threo cases of'tho pneumonic type—two in Wellington city and one at Lower Hutt— while thcro wevo four pneumonic cases notified last week. The mild cases represent an l illness of threo to four days, v after-which-tho disease disappears. From Stratford is reported one case of infantile paralysis. < .
