PROPOSAL TO HAND THEM OVER TO GOVERNMENT. London, January 24. The newspapers are discussing a proposal that the London Traffic Combine should hand over the "lubes" and omnibuses to the Ministry of Transport on similar terms to its acquisition of th.' railways, by which the Government guarantees the shareholders their piewar dividends. Tho pr.pcrs point out that the combine's move i* due to. the widespread protests against the combine's Bill, which seeks Parliamentary sanction to a substantial increase in fares. Tho Government might be willing to lake over the tubes, but nut the ouini T buses, which are responsible for 70 per cent, of the. estimated deficit.—Aus.-N.Z. Cnblo Assn. '
