BOY FALLS FROM TRAIN
FOUND 21 HOURS LATER.

Albert Patterson, aged IG, when re. turning to Lvttelton on Saturday evening fell from n train in tho tunnel about a hundred yards from tho Lytteltou end. Ho had a miraculous escape from being cut to pieces. Ho was found by a ganger who was making an inspection of tho luunol on Sunday morning, having lain for twenty-four hours in an unconscious fitato alongside tho lino over which ninny trains had passed after ho fell. Patterson was removed to the casualty ward at Lyttelton, whore it was found that he was suffering from a deep wound on the forehead, and two others at the base of the skull. His condition is regarded as serious.'
