Interviewed relative to the possible appointment of a successor Sir Thomas Mackenzie (High Commisisoner for New Zealand) 6tates that he has received no communication from the Government about (he position. Sir Thomas Mackenzie denies the statement of Mr. G. W. Russell, former Minister of Internal Affaire, that he was only willing to accept reappointment on four months' notice. It was the Government that was unwiliintr to grant a longer extension after the first year's extension, and ho was still at the Government's disposal.— Ans.-N.is. Cable Assn.
