e MELBOURNE 'MAN'S NOVEL IDEA. Melbourne, January 24. Mr. T. Suodgrass has conceived a jilan for combating droughts and bush tires liv means of a specially constructed aeroplane carrying a salt tank. The idea is to mount among the moist-laden nimbus clouds and spray fine salt, which will cause lliom to precipitate moisture wherever it is wanted. For bush fires ho would reolarc the salt by water, and spray tho flames. The idea has still to bo lasted.—Press Assn.
