FOOTBALL CRAZE
DISLOCATING INDUSTRIES IN ENGLAND. (Rcc. January 22, 7.45 p.m.) Condon, January 18. Employers complain that the football craze is completely dislocating important industries. Forty thousand people witnessed tlie cup-tie match between Sunderland and Hull, held in the middle of the week, and. nine-tenths of them were artisans. Some shipyards and engineering ivories were completely closed, despite threats ol dismissal of absqntees. It is estimated that a day's loss, in wages and output in Sunderland alono is <£50,000. —United Service.
