INFLUENZA CASES MOSTLY MILD Cases of infectious diseaso in the Wellington health district were notified as under during the week ended January 19:— Influenza 135 Pneumonia 8 Scarlet fever 4 Diphtheria 16 Tuberculosis 1 ' Puerperal septicaemia 2 Moa-slcs 10 Erysipelas ; .... 1 Tho influenza cases were distributed as under.—Wellington city, one severe, four mieumonic. % mild; Petone,'five mild; Johnsonville, four mild; Feilding, two mild: Otnki, two mild; Palmerston North, two mild; New Plymouth, one mild: Stratford, three mild; New Plymouth, ouo mild; Ha vera, one mild; Pahiatua. one mild; Havelock, one severe : Picton, ono mild; Takaka, ten mild. Tt. will bo observed that by far the greater number of the cases listed aro mild. Pneumonia eases were distributed as follow:—Wellington, four; Palmerston North, one; Feilding, one; Levin, one; Picton. one. No cases of lethargic encephalitis or of icerebro-sninal meningitis were notified.
