The paramount. Chief Griffiths nnd the lesser chiefs of Basutolantl visited Windtor Castle recently. They wore shown nvor the State apartments, the Royal chapels, and the Royal stables. After luncheon they visited the Royal mausoleum at Frogmore, where they placed a wreath composed of white chrysanthemums and orchids on the tomb of Queen Victoria. The wreath bore the following inscription;—"ln revered memory, from tho Paramount Chief Griffiths, chiefs and pcoplo of Basutoland."
The appointment of Sir J. Tudor Walters, M.P., as Paymaster-General in the room of the bite Sir .f. C'omplon-liickc-lt, M.1.'., is announced.
