Speaking at M'hitbank, General' Smuts strongly condemned profiteering as one of tho gravest problems of the world. Referring to the political situation he urged tho abandonment of the old political spirit with a view to making South Africa one of the most highly organised countries in the world. If the people would help him in that policy ho was their man. ]f they wanted to go back to the old party cries he would rather go farming. Ho was sick of politics — Aus.-N.55. Cable Assn.
