LESS SPIRITS AND MORE BEER AND AVTNE CONSUMED. (Rec. January 15, 10 p.m.) Sydney, January 15. The Government Statistician Teports that the New South Wales drink bill for tho year ended Juno 30 Inst was <£7,277,000, an increase of .£511,000 compared with the previous year, though the amount per head of the population decreased about l)d. A notable feature is the continued decrease in the consumption of spirits and the increased consumption of Australian beer and wine-Press Assn.
