TRAMWAYS DISPUTE
« A STRAINED SITUATION. . . By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, January 15. Tho. claims of tho Christchurch tram- / way-men for increased wages have been refused by the board, and tho situation to-day is somewhat strained, while there are hints in various quarters of a possible strike. No steps of any kind will be decided upon till Tuesday, when tho Tramwaymen's Union will discuss tho matter. In tho meantime, tho various aspects of the question are being discussed by the Transport Workers' Advisory Board in Wellington.
