The poll of Hutt River Board ratepayers taken yesterday to-decide whether , or not th" board should- raise Hie sum , of XUDOu for the purpose of purchasing dredging and other ptoni'i resulted as follows.:— . For the proposal 27-4 ■ Against 50 Informal ; , 1 Majority in favour ■ 221 Very_little interest appears to have been taken in the poll, as only 325 votes were, cast out of approximately 2000 names on the ro]l. There are 1622 voters on the roll, owners of property under .£IOOO in value, being entitled to one vote; over .£IOOO and under JSOfiO,. two votes; and over ,£2OOO. three votes.
