1 (From Our Special Correspondent.) Carterton, January 12. The stewards of the Taratahi-Carterton ) Racine Club met on Saturday afternoon, Air. J. Ilodder presiding. j Messrs. W. K. Bidwill and C. F. Val--1 lance wrote intimating that they would 1 arrange a day for inspecting tliP ground :i improvements, and it was decided that e the Ground Committee meet the abovec named gentlemen on tho day they visit - the coursc. It was reported that since last meeting :- the filling along the track had almost g been completed, tho sheep shorn, and a fifteen lambs sold at per weight, and 100 d ewes purchased. The six and seven-fur-d long start had not vet been commenced, e but the work would be put in hand within the next fortnight It was resolved to strictly enforce the 'Miles regarding hours for training hoises on tho track. " These provide that horses d must be oil the course by 10 o'clock on I week days, and 9 o'clock on Sundays. It n was pointed out that the practice of irregular hours interfered with other it work upon the grounds. It was further i- decided that all horses without a permit t t imi3t not bfl taken on the track, and horse* on tho forfeit list, are to ho strictly t excluded from the course v It was announced that about fourteen - hordes were in work on the track, and "i it was resolved to allow trainers the use " nf the course proner oh Wednesdays and j' Saturdays, weather permitting. o —
