o VIEWS OF AX AUSTRALIAN. ORGANISER. Sydney, January !>■ Speaking at a welcome to the Allianco delegates who have returned from New Zealand after taking part in the prohibition campaign, the Rev. Hammond said that a number of alleged informal votes had been wrongfully put aside. "Tho liquor trade is so strong in New Zealand that-they were able to absolutely cloud the issue in April and December." He concluded that the energy of the prohibitionists '. had somewhat j laggoil in December, as they were suffering from a sort of "war weariness," but in spite of these setbacks prohibition was coming in New Zealand, and tho next fight there on this issue would probablv be tho last one—Press Assn. . [The Rev. John Dawson, secretary of the. New Zealand Alliance, referring to the preceding cable message, made the following statement: "There must have been some confusion in the minds of the Australian organisers when they left on tho day after the poll, as there was in the minds of many others. On polling day thero was a good deal of confusion in regard lo absent voters' permits from no-license electorates.. I|i several electorates the deputy- rehi.niingopeers refused to give these absent: voters Hie two voting papers on national prohibition and local restoration, which, of course, applied only to the no-license electorates. Tt has been revealed at the official count that 103 persons-did not get tho national paper and !H did not get tho local restoration paper."]
