"FAUST." Gounod's immortal work "Faust," which is an opera of extraordinary power and vitality, as well as a musical creation ol' mighty worth, was presented again at Die Grand Opera House lost evening by the Williamson Grand Opera Company. Miss Amy Castles was again the Marguerite, and sang tho wonderful music fluently and with fine regard lor tho character. Mr. Ralph Erroilc made a very attractive Faust, but a not too convincing lover. He rather suggested ■ that lie wished to 1» loved rather !!;m t» love, and that feeling was, somehow or other, behind his vocal effort During the first performance of "Faust" the tenor showed a tendency to flatten, and that fault was evident again last ceiling, though not to the same extent. Mr. Alfredo Vnlenti, now in good voice, gave an acceptable reading of Mephistcpheles, showhi" good vocal and dramatic quality in "The Calf of Gold" and the humorous mock serenade. -Mr. Carl Formes "as again the Valentino' of the east, Miss Thelma Carter appeared as Siebel, and Miss Vera Bedford as Martha. The company will make its first appsarance this evening in "Cavalleria Rustieana" (Mascagni) and "I Pngliaeci (Leoncavallo), the most popular double bill known in grand opera. Both works are intensely dramatic, strongly Latin in argument and temperament, and when it is known that" each made its composer famous it is little wonder howoften thev are in demand, even in great cities which boast a season of grand cpera every year. . "Madam Butterfly" will lie revived on Thursday, and "La Bohcmc" on Friday.
KING'S THEATRE. An orchestral imitinea will be given at the Kins's Theatre to-day at 2.15, when the nttrajiion will be "A Lady's Name,' featuring Constance Talmadge. H'cro is not a dull moment at any stage of the nicture. and the voting comedienne, justifies her limitation as the most charming and cantivating artist on tho screen. The Lvrio Concert Party will appear in a complete change of vocal and instrumental numbers. The programme will bo repeated again to-night. The box plan is at the Bristol till 5. and then at the theatre. Telephone 3143.
. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "Marie. Ltd.," which is Alice Brady's latest Select feature, is a story of love, happiness, and heartache, all set in a fashionable millinery establishment. Alice Bnv.lv is the essence of all that is Youthful and charming, and she is cast in ' a role for which she is well fitted. Scenei from the Lyall Bay carnival are also beintr shown.

Tho latest addition to tho ranks of Vibirranh stars is Bessie Love, who makes her first appearance with that comounv in the brilliant prairie roinaneu "The Dawn of Understanding, an adaptation of Bret Harte's. famous story. Episode seven of the Pathc's great sena "The Lightning Haider," in winch Pearl White is featured, is included in the proeraiM.
DAISY KENNEDY. Tho box plans for-Miss Daisy Kennedy's concerts at tho Town Hall Concert Chamber on Saturday next, anil tho following Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, will be available at the Bristol this morning. Miss Kennedy, who is touring New Zealand under the J. and N. Tait direction, comes with a reputation gained in London, Vienna, Paris and other musical centres of ..Europe. Wonderful genius, coupled with remarkable personality and charm, has won her a distinguished place amongst leading musicians of tho world- Only 2li years of age, the talented young artist has already figured largely in* British creative and 'executive music. Ilio London Morning Post," referring to Miss Kennedy, savs: "Possibly her most notable achievement was the extraordinarily virile performance of the Bach Chaconne, in which strength of tone and sureness ot hngeriii" were equal and invariably convincing. The Mozart Concerto m D in vi»otous version, and some of the music of" the old Italian writers made up a scheme that was carried out m-a way that left no doubt as to tho great gifts of its exponent." Crowded houses were the rule wherever Miss Kennedy appeared, including repeat concerts being given in order to met with the public demand.
