A BREACH OF TRUST
ACCUSED PROTESTS AGAINST CONVICTION. Br TolgcriDh.—T'rpgc Annotation. Chnistchurch, Junuarv C. henry Leonard Bradding. foreman of '1!' railway goods sited, Christchurch, wns sentenced to three months' imprisonment by the Magistrate, Mr. S E ArCarthy, this morning, for the theft of quantities ot iron and timber. Evidence wis {fiven that the iron was taken from the Roods shed bv a carter to accused's place, and Hint the- timber also was stolen. Accused gave the police a contradictory account, of his possession or the iron and timber. He denied committing the theft, but offered no evidence. The Magistrate said the accused had committed it broach of trust, sotting a bad example In the men under his charge. The easo required more than a line, to he inflicted a sentence of three months. Accused in leaving the Court again protested his innocence, and announced that he intended to appeal.
