1) NEW SOUTH WALES CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Rec. January i, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 4. Special interest was taken in the New South Wales 220 yards swimming championship owing to. Ross (Ihe American champion) coinneting. The race resulted as follows:-Ro--s. I: lCirlilnnd. 2: Longworth, .3. Though ho has not yet had time to strike full form, Ross won easily by (hrco yards in 2min. .12 Msec. Kirkland beat Longworth by half a vard. The 100 yards backstroke championship of New Soulh Wales was won by Beck in linin. 10 4-.VCC—Prcs Assn.
