<j CONSIGNMENTS OP FOOD BEING FORWARDED. (Roc. January 1, 11.20 p.m.) London, December 30. The newspapers recently have again been calling attention to tho appalling conditions in Vienna. It is now announced that immediate steps are being taken in England, France, and Italy to givo relief. Italy is sending (train, and England large consignments of fats and other foodstuffs. It has also been,arranged th.it Czeclio-Slovaksn. Jngo-Slavi.i, and Poland shall release a large number of railway trucks for Austrian use. Tho measures, however, are purely temporary, •ns it is felt that nothing permanent can ljo attempted till Americh. foils into lino with her Allies regarding tho former enemies—Renter.
