ENGLISH DOCKERS' CLAIM
♦ OFFER OF COURT OF INQUIRY ACCEPTED. London, December 31. Tho Transport Workers' Union has accepted tho employers' oli'er of a Court of Inquiry for the investigation of tho doekers' claim for 16s. a' day as tho minimum wage. Tho Court will consist of threo employers, threo workers, and an independent chait-man. It is hoped thus to prevent a strike of 150,000 men. Sir B. S. Home, Minister of Labour, and also tho Parliamentary Committee of tho Trade Union Congress, have intervened in tho iron-moulders' strike, and hope to reach a settlement—Aus.-N.//. Cablo Assn.
