$ BURGLAR IN HOBSE-TE.AINEB'S BESIDENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, January 1. Mr. Albert Cutts, trainer for Sir George Clifford, who had been absent for ten days in the North Island with several of Sir George Clifford's racehorses, arrived home yesterday to find that during his absenco his residence at Biecarton had been ransacked by burglars. Jewellery, clothing, linen, various articles of attire, and some household effects wero stolen, tho value, roughly, being about The burglary took place on Tuesday night. That is known, because a. friend had gone through the house daily and the last visit, made on Tuesday afternoon, disclosed that everything was in order.
