A clause of hit. will reads as follows: "I bequeath to my wife all my MSS., letters. memoranda, and private papers of literary, biographical, or historical interest. and 1 desire that she will malco aiTaiiirements for the collection nnd publication thereof (omitting: such of them us. bavin.-; regard to the feelings of living persons, or the interests of tho service, or r,n any other grounds, sho shall, in her discretion, think fit to keep private! bv some publishing firm of good repute, on terms to be approved by the fruslees or'tnistee, and under the supervision or with the co-operation (as regards literary form) of some competent person of her selection." Tho net proceeds of such • publication are to form part of Hie residual estate which ho left to his infs.
