AN AVIATOR'S TROUBLES
MATTHEWS HELD UP IN SOFIA. (Rec. December 31, 1.10 a.m.) London, December 29. A T<?porfc from Matthews -tho aviator, states that he weirt to Belgrade in a train, but General Plunkett was unable to supply him with petrol. He ultimately got some from the French authorities, but only sufficient to carry him to Sofia. When the .mail left the latter city ho was still hold nn by four days snow-storms. —Aus.-N.Z.
