To-day (Wednesday), December 31, correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs will bo delivered from the letter-carriers' department (entrance tipstairs from Fcathci'ston Street at the Chief Post OSioe) from 8 to 9 p.m., also the public delivery counter will be open for delivery cf correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office from J lo 9 p.m. Tho parcel delivery counter will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. On Thursday, January 1 (New Year's Day), the Postal Department will be closed in all it.i branches. Mails for dispatch by steamers sailing on New -Year's Day will close at 8 p.m. on 'previous evening.
