GENERAL ALLENBY'S VIEWS ON THE SITUATION. (R-ec. Deccm'oer 29, 11,15 p.m.) London, December 28. Tho "Daily Mail" publishes Mr. Jefferies' interview with General Allenby in Cairo. General Allenby says that conditions aro improving, and acids: "I hope tliat Lord Milr.or's Commission will indicato <i permanent solution. Tho commission offers to hear every view fully." General Allenby claimed that the unrest in Egypt was not special, but rather a symptom which was an example of tho vexationsness under authority ■which was manifest in many parts of the world as a result of the war. Ho concluded by'saying that many responsible Egyptians wished to work alongsido tho British for tho development of Egypt.—"The Times."
