NAVAL DECORATIONS
AMERICAN AWARDS TO BE REVIEWED. Washington, December 29. _ Rear-Admiral Decker, a former American Naval Attache at Madrid, in a letter to Mr. 'Daniels, refusing to accept a naval decoration, points out that Spam was prevented from entering tho war through the effort* of American naval officers in Madrid during the great Gorman offensive of March, 1018. Several other high naval officers have written to Mr. Daniols, refusing to accept decorations on the snmo grounds as were taken by Admiral Sims (that '«, that other officers have not been adequately honoured). Mr. Daniels has ordered another meeting of tho Naval Board to reconsider the. awards of honours, and it is understood that President Wilson wilt be asked to pass upon the board's recommendation. A Congressional Committee is also asked to investigate tho matter.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
