INCREASED TONNAGE NEXT YEAR. (Rec. December 27, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 2G. The White Star Line intends to divert the Mogantic to the Australian trade, in spite of a protest from Canada. Thcro is a prospect of a cons'dorablo increase in the tonnage for Australia early in 1020. It is understood that tlio Government, in addition to diverting Hie Megant : c to Australia, is restoring shortly to tlio P. and 0. Lino about six of their steamers which were in the Australian servico before tlio war, but it is probable that the refitting will occupy some tiuno.—Aiis..-N.Z. Cable Assn.'
