CAIRO TO CAPE
, .AERIAL liOUTfi SURVEYED. . London, December 2-f. The Air Ministry announces that after twelve months' work, three survey parties have explored various zones on the Cairo to Cape flying route, and have cleared sites for aerodromes and landing grounds about two hundred miles apart along the selected route. Tho lino follows the Nile for the greater part of the way to Khartoum, and tlience runs through Uganda, along the .eastern side of Lake Victoria, over German East Africa, and Bulawayo to Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Bloemfontein and Cape Town, The aerial route measures approximately 5200. miles.— Ans.-N.Z. THE CORFU TRAGEDY
CAPTAIN HOWELL'S BODY WASHED ASHORE. , (Rec. December 27, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 26. Lloyd's agent at Corfu telegraphs that Captain Howell's body was washed ashore and buried on Tuesday by an English chaplain. Eraser's body litis not yet been found. Bad weather prevents the salving of the aeroplane, which is now a complete wreck.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
