- THE latest figures. Several additional official returns of votes east at the licensing poll reached the Electoral Department during the weok-end. They include tho result of the valine on the transport Ruahine. The returns increase the combined Con-tinuance-Stale Purchase majority againßt Prohibition to 2218. The total number of votes so far accounted for is 528,706, and of this 263,244 have been cast for Prohibition. The number of votes required to give an absolute juniority for Prohibition would be 2(31.354. and the Prohibition total falls short of this by 110!) The votes of these men will be counted after the ship's arrival.
