By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, December 23. The most important item at the Jlunisido twice to-day from the public point of view was the lamb sale. 'Fortunately, good supplies osimo forward, thus assuring housewives their dainty joints for Hid festive season. Prices were somewhat easier. The yarding.* in other dunnrlmenta were quite amplo for requirements, with the exception of fat cattle, which were in short supply for «. double sale. There was n small yarding of fat cattle, numbering l:! 7. I'ma doublo'snle this was « very small supply, 'and it w-iis anticipated that values would be on a higher level than late ruling rates. Compared with last week prime cattle were up about 10s. to 15s. pur head. I'rime hoary bullock:;, to ,£3O 12s. Gd.; medium, from JJ22 H)s. to «£2-l; others, from -tlf ii]in'nr<U. Best cows and heifers sold to J;1S; others, from XVI upwards. There was a medium yarding of sheep, numbering UiO head, of fair quality. This number was ample for requirements, and values were practically on a par with last week's rates. The- major portion of the sheep offered were shorn, only a small proportion being in the wool. Woolly wethers made from 40s. to 555., and woolly ewes from 3Gs. to 505.; prime shorn wethers made from -10s. lo !55.; medium, 355. to 375.; lighter kinds, from 30s. upwards; prime shorn ewes mndo from 311s. to -433. Cd. medium, 325. to 375. Cd.; light and aged, from 255. upward*. In lnmbs there was by far the largest yarding this season, numbering ISB7 heiul. The quality on the whole was good. As quite: :v number of butchers had secured supplies in the country values were easier. Prinio lambs made from 28s. Gd. to 31s. M.; medium, 255. to 275. fid.; inferior kinds irom 2fls. upwards. Thwo was a medium yarding of pigs, and a keen demand, prices being practically on a pur with last week's rales. Prime bai:oners made from lid. to lHd. ppr lb.; and primo porkers from Is. to Is. 2d. per lb.
