THE WAR ON THE MAHSUDS
STUBBORN RESISTANCE ENCOUNTERED. (Rec. December 2J-, 0.5 a.m.) Delhi. December 22. Official news from Waziristan shows that the troops encountered stubborn resistance from the Mahsiuls and Wnzire. In capturing hills in tho neighbourhood of M'stnd.iniin Knoll tho Sixty-seventh Brigade had licavy fighting on December 10 and 20, and only on tho following day succeeded in attaining their obioctivo. Tho casualties ns a result of this engagement are two hundred, including sixteen British ofiienns.—Eenter.
