Mrs. Hush: Williams {.Masterton) returned to the Wairarapa. yesterday from a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lucena, formerly of Toko {Tarnnaki), have arrived in Masterton on their return from n tour of Auckland and northern districts. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Buckeridge have gone to Nelson for the holidays. Miss Fellingham. who has been in charge of Bidcford School for some timo, and is now leaving the district, w.as presented by tihe pupils of the school with a gold pendant, set with pearls, and neck chain as n mark of the esteem in which she was held by them. The many friends of Miss Mabel Mack, formerly well known in Wanganui in amateur dramatic circles., will regret to hear of her death, which occurred in Wellington on Friday. News has been received of the wedding of Mi« Vera Nicolson, only daughter of the lute Sir Arthur Nicolson, ninth baronet (a cousin of Sir Robert Stout) of that Ilk and Losswadc. and Lady Nicolson, to Baron Horschcll, Bt., M.V.0., Lord-in-Wniting-in-Ord. since 1907. The wedding took place at Brough Locke', Fetlnr, Shetland. Tho bride is well known as one of the younger poets, and Lord Horschcll was attached to the special mission to announce tho accession of Kins George V. 4. telegram of congratulation was received from Kinjr George and a letter from Queen Alexandra. Lord and Lady Hersclicll have left on a tour of the world, and may visit New Zealand and Australia, where the late Sir Arthur Nicolson was born.
