MAGISTRATE'S COURT
A short sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held on Saturday morning. M!r. I'. L. Itoilings, S.M„ was on tho bench.
.For insobriety, four first oll'enders were dealt with in the uMial lenient manner. George Francis, who was iound helplessly drunk in Ghuv.nee Street, was remanded for a week. William Albert Cusgrovc, against whom there were three previous convictions, was lined 205., and lor committing a breach of his prohibition ordor he was fined -C 2, in default 21 hours' imprisonment.
Tnoimis Lowry wa.s lined 20s. for drunkenness, Jj,'> in default 14 days' imprisonment for committing a breach of his prohibition order, and a further .to in default 11 dnys.in gaol for using obscene language in Manners Street. Donald M'jDonald, who was conv'etod of twing an idle and disorderly person in that .lie possessed 110 visible/means of support was fined .£5, the alternative being one month's imprisonment, and for committing a breach of his prohibition order he was fined J23, in default 11 days' imprisonment
