PRIVATE HOTEL WORKERS' DEMANDS. The Conciliation Council further discussed on Saturday tho demands of Wellington private hotel employees for higher wages and improved conditions, fhe parties spent the whole morning in fixing the wages for kitchen hands. The weekly rates finally agreed upon were as follow: Where five or more hands r.re employed— Chef, £i 15s. (males), i 3 15?.. (females) ; second, .£3 ss. (males), X 2 17s. Gd. (females); third,- ,£2 2s. Gd. 'males), ,£1 17s. fid. (females): all other workers, £1 15s. (males), i£l 10s. (females). Where four hands are emnloycd—Chef, ,£4 f.s. fmales), ,£3 15s. (females):' second, .£2 15s. (males), £2 7s. Gd. (females); third, i£2 (male?), £1 12s. Gd. (femnlcs); ell other workers, ,£t 15s. (males), .£1 10s. (females). Where three hands are employed—Chef, ,£3 12s. Cd. (males), £3 7s. 6d. (females); second, M ss. (males). £2 (females); all other workers, J!1 15s. (males), Jci 10s. females). Where two hands are employed— Chef, iE2 15s. (males), £1 10s. ifemales); second, 17s. Gd. (males),_ £1 12s. Gd. (femalesV Where one hand is employed, ,£2 £3. Gd. (males). .£1 17s. Gd. (females).' The wagps of head waiters were fixed at £2 15s. To eachi of Hie ;,monnls set forth above a bonus of ss. is to be added, Tho actual remuneration that the employees will receive is further increased by tho fact that in all cases Hie employer is obliged to provide board and lodging or ttn allowance for Hie same. The council adjourned at 1 p.m., and will resume'at 10.30 a.m. to-day.
