SAD BATHING FATALITY

A fatality occurred on Fonsonby Bench to-day, resulting in the death of James Jicbvai'ds, married, aged about liG vpr.r. l :, who was in the Samoan Belief Forcy. Edwards jumped from a rock when iiming a bathe and never rose to the surface. His litllo children noticed that ho did not rise, but were too young to lealise the position. On their return homo they told their mother, who at ones gave the alarm. Edwards's tody was ion mi lying face down beside a rock in about four feet of water, with a bruise on Up forehead. 1> is not known whether death was duo to drowning ur to Imtj-t----failure.
