The extent of Protestant iniluenco on the polling was a revelation, and demonstrated .the strength and discipline of tho organisation. The groat triumph of. Protestantism at Awama provided, a result as startling as in Southliind and throughout the Dominion. The noil had shown that the- Protestants stand together and vote solidly to maintain tlieir traditions, privileges, institutions, and liberty. The majority of the p. fesenfc House would carry tho confidence of Protestants. THE WALLACE SEAT. A Press Association message from Inyercargill last night stated that the latest returns for the Wallace seat show that Mr. A . .Hamilton (Reform) has polled 2779 votes, and Mr; J. C. Thomson (Liheral) 2713. There arp still 150 voles to come, and 123 absent voters' permits were issued. .
