The Kaituna, which hae\been laid'up at Auckland for over three months under(joine 'overhaul, was put into commission on Tuesday, and sailed for Wontport to load a eprgn of coal for Auokland, While at Auckland, prnotipally all her accommodation hae been rpconetructed to euit the requirements of tho Seamen's Union. This has led to an improvement in the ofiicors' quartern, especially thoae of tho engineers, Their accommodation is row on the brjdso deck. The saloon under tho poop, which the ofllcere formerly used, has hcpn refittod to accommodate the firemen. Their quarters • now have threp rooms, on; for each threo firemen, aiso a messroom, change-room bathroom, .and lavatory. Tho sailors retain their quarters in the forecastle forward, and what formerly was tho firemen's forecastle is nov thq seamen's mesnroom. A meaeroom for the master and odlfe;* hae been built under tho forepart of the bridge deck.
