GERMAN NAVY'S TASK
URGED TO HELP THE FATHERLAND ■ TO REBUILD ANEW. On the occasion of the termination of tho. work connected with the reduction of the naval forces provided for in the Peace Trealy, the- Chief of the German Admiralty, Hoar-Admiral von Trotha, issued a proclamation to the Navy,, in which he said:
. "The German fleet has everywhere, been able to show its flag, ever beimj to the fore whero the work of pence and tho reputation of the working German peoplo was to lie promoted, and wlievo Germany's universally admired mercantile fleet and the colonies flourishing under her protection needed its helping' hand, forming a link between the Homeland and the Germans abroad. Our task is now to give a hand everywhere in our broken" Fatherland in order to. build a. new future."
The proclamation concludes by recalling tho fleet's successes in the war, and summoning all members of, tho Navy, remembering their dead comrades, at all times and e'-erywhere lo remain Irne to one anolher and cooperate with their whole strength in the country's reconstruction.
